Tag It Tuesday: Stars

This tag was created for the July challenge with the Tag It Tuesday group: Stars.  As it is July, I decided to go with a stars and stripes theme.

I started with a #8 manilla tag and added Gloss White Dreamweaver embossing paste through the Tim Holtz layering stencil (Stars THS008).

I then sprayed Blueprint Sketch distress spray over that section of the tag and, once dry, buffed the colour off the stars.

As I wanted a funky effect, I masked off the star section and added more of the embossing paste through the Stripes layering stencil (THS004).

Once this embossing paste was dry, I blended Candied Apple Distress ink over the bottom section of the tag and buffed as much of the colour off the stripes as I could.

The New York sky line from the Cityscapes stamp set (designed by Tim Holtz for Stamper's Anonymous) was stamped onto Sheena's stamping card with Black Soot Archival ink, fussy cut leaving a narrow border, attached to the bottom of the tag and trimmed at both sides.

I added the 'stars and stripes' from the Seasonal Chit Chat sticker book by Tim Holtz before finding some narrow red white and blue satin ribbon for the top of the tag.
