Art Journal Prompts Week 29: Chaos

I had so much fun making this page for week 29 of Art Journal Prompts: Chaos.  At one point, I realised that I had added all the stencilling and stamping with the background the wrong way on, but turning the whole thing 90 degrees to stick in my art journal only added to the effect.  At least I realised before I added the sentiments.

I started with a piece of mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm) and added Dylusions Paints in Chopped Pesto and Fresh Lime with a blending tool.
I went over the whole page with the Cargo layering stencil by Tim Holtz (THS001), using the reverse colours over the top.
Before the next step, I gave the whole of the background a coat of watered down white gesso to knock the colours back a little.  I then added After Midnight through the Bubbles layering stencil (THS002) and Lemon Zest through the Burlap stencil (THS007).
Finally, I stamped over the whole background with a selection of Stamper's Anonymous stamps; Drips & Dirt by the Art of Brett Weldele and Slight Alterations by Tim Holz using Fern Green Archival ink.
I repeated the same process with the larger off cut left over from the sheet of A4 mixed media card to create a background for the sentiments.

Using the Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet, I stamped the words 'organised' and 'chaos' in Versamark ink and heat embossed using Bright White detail embossing powder by Cosmic Shimmer.  These were then cut into strips of varying lengths and edged with Majestic Blue Versafine ink.  I also used two of the Chit Chat stickers which seemed to fit the prompt.  It was at this point that I realised that I would need to turn my background panel 90 degrees before gluing the strips into place.
As the  Majestic Blue ink wasn't entirely dry before I glued on the strips, I managed to get the odd smudge here and there.  I therefore decided to go all out and deliberately added some additional fingerprints in the same ink.
