This card was made for a colleague who is leaving us after many years at our school; she will be missed. Once again I was working with a 20cm x 20cm pre made white base card to allow room for notes and signatures.
The black mat measures 19.5cm x 19.5cm and the main topper is a piece of Sheena's stamping card cut down to 19cm x 19cm. I decided to try out my Distressed Rectangle Poly Plate by Crafty Roo Designs which is a cross between a shaped gelli plate and a blank acrylic stamp. I worked with the Misti as I needed to be able to overprint in the same position multiple times. I added Lavender Dash and Lush Lilac Artistry inks to the Poly Plate, smoothed them with a brayer and then built up the base colour by stamping multiple times.
To add interest, I added Indian Jamun Artistry ink to the Impression Obsession Thin Stripes stamp, pressed it onto the Poly Plate and then transferred the pattern to the card. As I had more cards to make, I simply die cut the Good Luck Sentiment by Tonic Studios out of black card and added it towards the bottom of the coloured panel. The topper was then matted onto the black card panel and glued to the front of the card blank. Another clean and simple card, but I love the effect of the stamping using the combination of a patterned stamp and a plain poly plate.
