The current challenge over on Tag Tuesday is Vintage and I thought this tag would fit the theme perfectly.
I used the Clockwork aperture die to die cut a partial aperture from a #8 manilla tag.I made my own Washi tape by inking / stamping onto strips of masking tape stuck to a glass mat. I blended Tea Dye and Frayed Burlap Distress Oxides over the masking tape with a foam tool.I then added stamping in Coffee, Sepia, Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso archival inks using stamps from the Mixed Media Journal set from Clarity Crafts.I added the home made Washi tape to a second #8 manilla tag, then trimmed the excess. The die cut tag was coloured with black gesso and dried thoroughly.I added stamping over the gesso, using some of the same Mixed Media Journal stamps as before, in Cosmic Copper and Galaxy Gold Brilliance inks. The two tags were then glued together.I added one of the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls to the tag.Her dress was tinted with the Tea Dye and Rusty Hinge Distress Markers, blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nib.To finish, I added some of Barbara’s word stickers. I have got used to working on two tags at a time, except this time they are layered, rather than being created separately for my journal.
