WOYWW 792/12: Getting Used To Things

Welcome to the weekly desk share with friends old and new that is WOYWW: founded by Julia and kindly entrusted to me after 15 years.

I couldn't resist putting in an order to the Clarity essentials sale which ended on Monday at midnight.  The 8x8 folders are perfect for the papers and larger dies and this one is already full.

My Great Niece became a teenager!
In memory of Dad.

#3 son moved out at the weekend into his new student digs.  It only took two journeys with the new car - which is a dream to drive - with plenty of blankets and protection in the boot and the back seats down.  We would have managed in one but he wanted to take his computer chair with him.  I have made sure that his belongings are insured.  He is only a 15 minute drive away from home so not too far at all.

I ordered a boot liner and rubber mats for the car and picked them up yesterday on my way to Mum's.  I also popped in to see a friend who was too scared to come and visit me on Sunday due to the rioting.  Awful scenes in the commercial centre of Stoke (Hanley) on Saturday which prevented a dance show taking place at the Regent Theatre as they closed their doors.  So much for protesting 'for the children'.  Just an excuse for thuggery and hatred.

Hope Jan and G are better soon.  Covid is not nice - especially on your birthday!  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW - thanks for joining in.

Glad that you are enjoying the new car and hope that you are ok on your own at home. The riots are dreadful to watch, I agree with you. Great set of collages. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

Oh bless you for thinking of us, we’re still testing positive and feeling whacked, not doing much at all. Thank goodness for the Olympics, it’s been good to have them to watch. How dreadful about the rioting in Stoke, the idiots aren't thinking of anyone but themselves. I’m so pleased that your new car is such a hit, it’s good when a major purchase like that proves to have been a good move. Hope your son enjoys his new digs xx

Yes, I forgot to order some card from Clarity - doh! Great sale as well.
Good to see you keeping up with the challenge, I would never have managed it so long, my weekly challenge is enough for me that I do with my friend.
Glad the car is proving great for you (and for 3 son), hope you have many happy hours of driving.
The riots are frightening! As you say an excuse for thuggery and violence just glad to see the government are doing something positive about it. Nothing to do with what went on in Southport - just an excuse as you say. I am embarrassed my own town was involved. As if those poor families and children who are most likely suffering from the trauma had not had enough without this senseless thuggery going on. Makes me so angry that humans behave like this.
Hugs, Neet 4 xx

A big step for your son - best wishes to him. I'm enjoying all your collages and thinking the latest one there is perfect. Your car sounds great and a relief to have a reliable vehicle. You will have fun venturing out in it through the hols. Have fun. x x Jo

So cool that you can dedicate you daily pages to specific things, like your great niece and your Dad, loving the green for August. Also good to get a few essentials in the sale. Does son moving out mean you are an Empty Nester now? Glad he isn't too far away and the car is a dream. I can't believe the riots, was shocked seeing the news, it must be quite terrifying so close to home for you. Stay safe - Hugs BJ#8

I love those little bird stickers, I don't think I've seen you use them before or maybe they are just more prominant this week, or maybe birds are catching my attention?! So awful about the riots - how on earth is stealing crocs helping anyone?! Very concerned about this evening's planned events across the country. Sending everyone a peaceful week, Lisa-Jane #12 www.prettymypage.co.uk

My husband noticed the window sticker with the flowers around, he thought it would make a great card. I love your stickers/images. I can never seem to find such nice ones. Yes, the rioting was awful and frightening to see on the TV , worse for those who lived near of course. Happy WOYWW. Angela # 11

I’m glad you’re enjoying your new car, Sarah, and hope that your son enjoys his new home. All the rioting is terrible but when they stop kids’ events in Hanley it really highlights how false and self-serving it is.
Your collages are beautiful,
Take care and happy WOYWW

Yikes. Missed commenting after linking yesterday as very busy getting The Hubster ready for Cropredy. But loving the cool greens of your collage set. Waving of Dear Son must have been tough - althout 15 mns away is better than Dorset to Scotland!! He'll be home for laundry LOL! I got similar to the Clarity binders for my stencils. Love them. And the rioting. Dear me. Def a worry, even in my sleepy little town. What on earth is going on!? Be safe.
A bit late but Happy WOYWW!

I am late commenting again but at least I am here...we were horrified to read of the riots. I agree totally with you.
Great collage pages as always. Love how you have made them illustrate special things this week!
Those folders look useful!
