WOYWW 634: Starting to Relax

Welcome to the weekly joining in with WOYWW, sharing desks from all around the world, and hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground.  The first week of the holidays went quickly and I am starting to relax.

Regular visitors will notice the neck fan that has appeared on my desk.  The heat has been somewhat unbearable for a few hours around noon and the neck fan helps take the edge off a little.

Still drawing each morning.  The hashtag refers to the prompts that I found online and that I am following for this month rather than the length of time that I have been drawing each day.  I have, in fact, been drawing every day since 1/12/20 as I decided to carry on when I got to the end of 2020.  I shall see how I feel at the end of this year as it is not easy to come up with prompts and after a year, they tend to start repeating.

No Eva today.  I have been sorting out the KS2 curriculum and should finish today.  She should be popping over tomorrow, as I am rewarding myself with a crafty day before getting stuck into KS3. STay safe and Happy WOYWW.  I'll pop and see everyone today or tomorrow morning.

The neck fan looks a great idea, and has certainly been needed last week. Enjoy your crafty day tomorrow before you have to do more prep! Happy drawing. Helen #2

Hi Sarah - thanks for the detail regarding your drawing - a year is a very long time to do anything daily - drawings look so interesting. I hope the heat doesnt get too bad for you. Have a great crafty day - stay safe & well - Cheers Maurs xxx #6

Glad your neckfan helps. I love your daily drawings Sarah especially the piano tie! If you ever run out of prompts, may I suggest the Gladstone museum? The potter’s wheel etc could be nice drawings.
Stay safe and happy WOYWW

Well I’m glad you’ve given yourself some time to ease up and relax before tackling curricula, good grief it’s never ending! The neck fan is a great gadget, I wonder if it would work for MeBart in the workshop…do you think his ear defenders would get in the way of the fan housing? My favourite drawing is Wobbly. I so often feel like a wee blue these days, my sister kindly reminds me that I’m not. Because I can fall over and they can’t!!

I really enjoy your little drawings each day and I'm very impressed at you keeping at this every day - I know I'd miss days, if not weeks, here and there. The fan looks like a must in the heat we've had - I have them all round the house and crawl from one to the other on very hot days! I'm certainly enjoying this cooler weather now.
Hope you have a great week and enjoy your day with Eva tomorrow,

Well, I love your drawings and hops you continue but understand the prompt issue. A neck fan sounds just the thing I could have used last week, I was dousing myself in cold water and leaving it to dry, plus using an old fan I bought from Indonesia years ago. My poor son had to get an AC unit for his small flat, he was frying. Enjoy your holidays!!

I like the wobberly lady this week, weebles womble but they don't fall down! We still have some in the attic. The boy on the tyre brings back memories. There was a big tree with a large tyre swing in the field in front of our house, and we all had fun on that...It looks like they are going to build in that field now, shame. We have fans, Hubby sez it's too hot to get up in the attic to get them!

I've never seen those neck fans but what a good idea! Continue with the challenge only if you're enjoying it! Frankly, I think I'll be glad doing something else after July! I already have a whole bunch of other projects lined up. Good luck with the KS3 curriculum - I'm glad all that is behind us - I think the kids are taught a lot of useless things while missing out on basics - not the teachers' fault, of course - I'm particularly angry with Michael Gove for doing away with course work for GCSEs - that backfired spectacularly during Covid, didn't it? Enjoy the cooler temperatures in your shed (it must have got very hot there by the afternoon!) and say hello to Eva for us when she comes over! xx zsuzsa #16

We had two fans give up on us in the heat! Bought a super tall one - it got used one day and then the sun left us. Typical! Today is thunder and lightening day - don't like.
Do like your drawings though and well done to you for persevering so long.
Love the neck fan

Sarah, thanks for popping over on my desk today! I must say that I am EXTREMELY jealous that you have the opportunity to take one of Max's classes! That would be such a dream!! Do, do enjoy yourself and have a little fun for me too! The needle felting has been fun so far and yes, I do hope I get to venture into the wet felting as well soon!!! Enjoy your holidays!! As always, love the drawings!! Day 24 is my fave! I am old enough to remember those heavy phones! LOLOL Stay safe and healthy and COOOOOOOOL! LOLOL Felicia #17

I don't think I've ever seen a neck fan but it sounds useful. We've had thunder and lightening today but not enough rain. So pleased you're having a rest though I know work doesn't end during the holiday. I think I used to have one or two weeks at the most when I managed to clear my head and then it all started again. Enjoy your crafty day tomorrow. Happy woyww. Hugs, Angela x14x

HI Sarah! Thanks for your visit. I've never seen a neck fan , it looks like it would work great - unless you had long hair like mine? I would probably get all tangled up in it! I have 4 tiny fans around the house that I can pinpoint during hot weather, of course one is in my stamping room. Good for you continuing with your drawing every day! That's awesome! Have a great week, Lindart #20

Don't think I've ever seen a neck fan before. You desk is looking lovely and spacious, and I love your telephone drawing especially. Well done on drawing every day for such a long time, it's good to keep a regular habit like that going isn't it. Happy WOYWW! Elle #18 this week

Hi Sarah, I've not heard of a neck fan - I could have done with one myself last week. It was unbearable in my craftroom. It seems your drawings haven't always been coming up on my FB feed - shame because I really enjoy seeing them. Have a lovely day today with Eva. Hugs, Elizabeth x #22

another thing you could try for beating the heat would be to take a bandana ( short scarf or pocket square type thin material) get it wet and wring it out and lay it across the back of your neck. (that helps too) I am as always amazed at your dedication to the drawing Sarah :) ~Stacy #21
