Layered Panels Birthday Card

The Clarity straight edged and picot edged nested dies are perfect for this layering technique.  Here I used the rectangles, but the squatres and circles would work just as well.
Die cut thee toppers from Clarity stencil card using the 6” x 5”, 4.5” x 3.5” and 3” x 2” nested rectangle dies. Cuts mats for each topper from black card using the corresponding nested rectangle picot dies.
Layer the toppers up without their mats using a repositionable tape runner.
Stamp Sarah from Cleverprints (designed by Emma Blake) onto the three layers in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
Lay the large Clarity Dot Wave stencil over the top and blend Picked Raspberry Distress ink around the outside of the image.
Move the stencil and repeat the previous step using Tumbled Glass Distress ink.
Colour the image using Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer watercolour pencils blended out with a watercolour brush pen.
Dry thoroughly and add some additional colour using Faber-Castell Polychromos.
Pull the toppers apart and mat them up.
Layer up the toppers, matching the stamping and stencilling.
Add the topper to an A5 white card blank.
Cut a strip of Clarity stencil card 2.5cm wide. Add stencilling to it following the technique used for the background of the topper.
Add Happy Birthday in Onyx Black Versafine ink using the Entwined Sentiments stamps.
Mat up the sentiment strip onto black card leaving a narrow border top and bottom.
To finish, add the sentiment strip to the bottom of the card trimming each end.
