When I want to create a watercolour effect, but still use a stamp as a starting point, I use a Distress Oxide for the stamping, usually Antique Linen or Tattered Rose. I used this technique to create the delicate wreath of flowers on this card.
Using the 4.5” nested circle die, cut a topper from Clarity stencil card. Cut a mat from black card using the 4.75” nested circle picot die.
Stamp a flower wreath around the edge of the white topper using the individual flower and small leaf stamps from Barbara’s Let the Sun Shine in Doodle stamp set. Stamp in Antique Linen Distress Oxide. Add With Love & Best Wishes into the middle using the Entwined Sentiments stamps and Onyx Black Versafine ink. Colour the wreath using Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer water colour pencils, blended out with a large watercolour brush pen. Mat and layer the topper. Lay the topper onto the front of a 5” x 5” white card blank. Stamp and colour one of the leaf clusters into each corner in the same manner as for the wreath. To finish, add the topper to the front of the card.
