Concertina Box Card using the In the Garden Lemon Tree Stamps: A Retirement Card

I felt that these In the Garden Lemon Tree stamps, designed by Linda Williams for Claritystamp, lent themselves to be used in a dimensional card, so created a concertina box card using two card blanks.

Cut a 6” x 6” white card blank in half. Cut a second card in half and score each piece at 1” intervals to make a concertina.
Make a light pencil line 1” in from each edge of the card back.
Stamp the Lemon tree into the top right corner in Onyx Black Versafine ink and dry thoroughly.
Rub out the top and bottom pencil lines and gently brush the remains of blue and green inks across the background using Clarity stencil brushes.
Colour the lemon tree with Faber-Castell Albrecht Dürer water colour pencils, blended out with a large watercolour brush pen.
Glue a concertina to either side of the card back.
On a separate piece of Clarity stencil card, stamp the summer house from the same stamp set in Onyx Black ink and dry thoroughly.
Colour the summer house in the same way as the tree.
Fussy cut the shed (taking off the lanterns), leaving a tab on the left hand side.
Glue the tab to the front of the first concertina fold from the back, on the left hand side of the card.
Do the same again with the picnic blanket and umbrella.

This time leave the tab on the right hand side and add it to the concertina on the right nearest the front.

Use the 4” nested square die to cut an aperture from the centre of the card front.
Stamp ‘With Love & Best Wishes’ along the top and ‘On Your Retirement’ (from the Entwined sentiments set) along the bottom in Onyx Black Versafine ink.
To finish, glue the card front to both concertina fronts.
