On Your Travels, an Art Journal Page: Ich liebe Berlin

This is my third journal page for the August prompt 'On Your Travels' over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Pages and More.  For this page I decided to focus on Berlin, as it is the destination for the annual Year 8 trip that I organise.  I am also entering this page into the Anything Goes challenge on Love To Craft Challenge blog.
I wanted to create a resist background on my page.  I stamped various German sentiments (from Pondskipper crafts) onto a piece of mixed media card (18.5cm x 19.5cm) using Versamark ink and heat embossed them using detail white EP. Glückwünsche means best wishes, Frieden und Freude means peace and joy, Freunde means friends and Schönheit means beauty.

It was difficult to see the sentiments until I spritzed the page with water, added black, scarlet and yellow ochre Brushos to the page, then used a wide flat brush to blend out the colours, creating the German flag.
I have the Amy Designs Find It Trading cutting and embossing die of Germany.  I cut and embossed it from mixed media card.
The die was replaced and Distress Oxides in Black Soot, Barn Door and Fossilized Amber brushed across it.  Berlin was then marked on the map using a black Posca pen.
The map was added to the page.
Using one of the Nellie's Choice Multi Frame heart dies, I die cut a heart,  coloured it using Royal Talens Ecoline pens in Black, Scarlet and Yellow Ochre, then went round the edge with a white Posca pen.  This was added to the page.
Sticking to German, I die cut the letters 'ich' using the Memory Box Contour Typewriter Keys dies as well as the frames.  These were coloured appropriately using the Ecoline pens and matted up, before being added to the page.
Finally, I used the Tonic Caps Alphabet dies to cut out 'Berlin' from black card, then used a Wacky Tack adhesive sheet to add glue to the letters.  These were added at the bottom of the page.
Ich liebe Berlin means I love Berlin.
