When I saw the current challenge over on Country View Challenges: Planes, Trains and Automobiles I knew exactly which stamp set I wanted to use. I have had it in my stash for ages and never used it; I felt it was about time to change that. My son has also recently bought himself a convertable, so I thought that he might like the tag to use as a bookmark.
Instead of adding a background, I decided to work directly onto a #8 manilla tag. I started by dragging black Dreamweaver embossing paste through the Tim Holtz mini layering stencil (Treads THMS045).
The stamp set that I was using (Car Classics Large by Crafty Secrets) has a small word panel. I stamped it multiple times onto the tag, following the angle of the tyre tread, using Onyx Back Versafine ink. I stamped a selection of the other stamps on the sheet onto a piece of Sheena's stamping card using the same ink, but this time heat embossed using clear EP. The images that I planned to use were coloured in using Ecoline pens (Royal Talens) and a silver Posca pen. In the end I decided to re stamp and emboss the sentiment onto another #8 manilla tag. This was then trimmed, matted onto red card and added to the tag. The convertable was fussy cut and added too. Before adding the speedometer, I added an arrow pointing to 85 to fit in with the sentiment.
