I am ashamed to say that I totally forgot about my nephew's birthday in June, then forgot that I had forgotten. I decided to make him an unbirthday card rather than a belated one because he received it so late.
I cut a piece of Sheena's stamping card to 13.8cm x 13.8cm and covered it with the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet. This had come about when mopping up some Amsterdam acrylic inks from a canvas. There was a gap between the inky parts of the paper towel which I decided to use to my advantage. The paper towel was sealed with distress matte collage medium, dried and trimmed.
Next I stamped Happy (Word Chain 2) and Birthday (Word Chain 3), both by Claritystamp, across the blank area using Majestic Blue Versafine ink and heat embossed them using clear EP. There wasn't enough space to add 'un' using the matching Word Chain Alphabet so I wrote it in using the blue Sakura Everyday micron pen. This was matted up onto a piece of dark blue card (14.3cm x 14.3cm) and added to a white card blank (14.8cm x 14.8cm). Even though the card didn't take that long to make, I love the pattern of the inks on the paper towel and always hang onto them to use as backgrounds.
