This tag was made for the April mini mission over on Mission Inspiration: the prompt being 'Move'. However, as it is also 'Black and White with a Spot of Colour', I will also be entering it into the current challenge on Tag Tuesday.
I started by covering a #8 manilla tag with Terminology Tissue wrap by Tim Holtz (sadly discontinued), sealing it with matte medium, drying and trimming.
Having decided where the stencil that I would be using was going to be placed, I stamped the Queen from the chess stamp set (by Woodware) using Versamark ink and heat embossed it in detail white EP. It was then coloured in using Golden Hi Flow acrylic paint in Titanium White. The stencil (Chessboard from Claritystamp) was placed over the tag and Jet Black Archival ink blended through the apertures. The paint on the Queen was then touched up again where it had been covered with the ink. I probably should have just made a mask and done the painting after the inking but I didn't stop to think! One of the sentiments from the same stamp set as the Queen, 'It's Your Move!' was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed in detail fine EP. Finally, to add a spot of colour, I glued a small red gem to the top of the Queen.
