This was my third and final sample for the Golden shows on Hochanda on Friday. It was the result of experimentation with the Golden Hi Flow Acrylics on a large Gelli plate.
Starting with Golden Pthalo Blue Hi Flow paint, I added a few drops to my 8" x 10" Gelli plate, brayered it out, then took a print on the shiny side of some deli paper to lay down some colour.
Next I did the same thing with the Teal Hi Flow paint but this time added some texture with the #8 Texture Tool from Ranger before printing over the first layer. The next layer used Pthalo Green and the #9 Texture Tool. Some Iridescent Copper was added to three areas next and stippled with a stencil brush to add texture. Finally, Quinacridone Magenta was added in a stripe, a print taken then the remaining paint stippled in the same way as the copper. Further prints of the magenta were added by moving the paper up the Gelli plate each time, stippling the remaining paint then repeating. Once I was happy, the deli paper was wrapped round and glued to a piece of 8" x 10" mixed media card using matte gel medium.
One of the Paper Dolls by Tim Holtz was added to the page, then Faber-Castell Big Brush markers used to shade and blend around the figures.
To finish the page, one of the Quote Chips (Tim Holtz idea-ology) was coloured using several Big Brush Markers, then glued in place so the couple appear to be standing on it.
