This tag was created in under forty minutes in response to a speed challenge set in a FB live session with Lou Withers of Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art (JJAMMMA). We had to create a tag using the theme of Paris in a limited amount of time and upload an image to the FB page.
I added some pieces of paper towel mop up sheets in blues and reds to a #8 manilla tag using matte gel medium, sealed, dried and trimmed. I was in such a rush that I got the blue and red side reversed as far as the French flag is concerned.
Next, I embossed the tag using the French script embossing folder (Tim Holtz / Sizzix). This didn't show up over the busy background until I added Renaissance Gold gilding wax over the top (Pebeo). To add further interest, I went back over some areas with the Silver gilding wax. I cut the Eiffel Tower out of a scrap of black card using the Marianne die and added it to the tag. To give further colour intensity, I blended blue and red Van Gogh oil pastels (Royal Talens) around the edges of the tag. I then went back in with the gilding wax to emphasize the word 'Paris'. Several of the Small Talk stickers (Tim Holtz idea-ology) provided sentiments. Later I went back and added ribbons in red, white and blue.
