Quarantine Quickie #9 & #10: Bubble & Squeak / Bricks & Mortar

As I finished these two tags for my Mission Inspiration quarantine quickie journal, I was only two prompts behind.  I will be able to drop to one prompt a day shortly lol.  As usual, I worked my way through my stash of mop up sheets for the backgrounds.
As soon as I saw the prompt 'Bubble & Squeak' I knew which stencil and stamp from Clarity that I wanted to use.  As it happens, the curve of the stamp fits the largest bubble on the stencil perfectly!  For texture, I covered a #8 manilla tag with the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet.  Seal with matte medium, dry and trim.
Add Forget-Me-Not Archival ink through the Jo's Bubbles stencil using a Clarity stencil brush.
Add the cross hatch stamp from the Mixed Media Journal set in the same ink through the stencil.
Use the sonnet stamp from the same set and cobalt Blue archival ink to add further interest through the stencil.
Add the mice from the 'Twas the Night' extras stamp set in Black Soot archival ink.
Draw round the bubbles using a black micron pen.
Paint around the bubbles (and over some of the smaller ones) with a fine brush and black acrylic paint.
Add white acrylic paint highlights to the larger bubbles.
To finish, hand write the prompt inside the largest bubble using a black micron pen.
I found the perfect background for my next tag on my clean up copy paper pile.  A piece I had used when inking up the clarity Town stencil for a different project (See HERE).
Add a section of the image to a #8 manilla tag, and trim the excess.
Add shading using Derwent Inktense pencils, blended out with a watercolour brush pen.
To finish, hand write the prompt using a black micron pen.
Stay safe everyone.

More inspiration! I can't believe that the 'the bubble and squeak' was that much of a quickie as quite a few stages to achieve end result, which I love. A very clever idea. xx
