Quarantine Quickie #17 and #18: Square One / Opposites Attract

For the first of this pair of tags I reworked an idea that I used for my ABC tag journal back in 2017 (Geometric: see HERE), also in response to prompts on Mission Inspiration
Build up a pattern on a #8 manilla tag using the outer shape stamps from Sam’s Shapes set 1 and set 2. Stamp in Versamark ink and heat emboss in white embossing powder.
Add numbers to five of the shapes in the same manner using the numbers stamps from Clarity.
Colour inside the shapes using a mix of Kuretake clean colour pens, Ecoline pens and Derwent Inktense pencils, blended out with a watercolour brush pen.
Go round the outside of the shapes with an Ecoline pen in Cold Grey, building up colour.
To finish, hand write the prompt using a white gel pen and add a couple of Barbara’s word stickers.
For the second prompt, Opposites Attract, I thought about other phrases which represent attraction and decided to use birds and bees for this tag.
Add part of a blending mat mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag. Seal it with matte medium, dry and trim the excess.
Stamp a pair of geese onto the tag in Black Soot archival ink (Clarity Geese stamps).
Add the bee from Jayne Nestorenko’s Agapanthus stamp set three times in the same ink.
Colour the geese and the bees using Faber-Castell big brush markers blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nibs.
Add some highlights to the bees’ wings with a white gel pen.
Mask off the geese and stamp some of the Wee Grasses along the bottom in Hickory Smoke and Black Soot archival inks. Remove the mask.
Add further shading along the bottom of the tag with big brush markers.
To finish, hand write the prompt using a black micron pen.
