Teenage Football Fan

Here's the second of the Christmas birthday cards.  I am heading for the football match later (Stoke v Manchester United) for the early kick off later, so decided to blog early today.  This card is for the young man who sits next to us every match - so Happy Birthday!

The theme and colour scheme were easy to choose; the colour scheme reflects the colours of the club badge and the theme was of course obvious!
The base card is A4 white linen, scored and folded in half.  I stamped the football text stamp from the Football Md stamp set by the Stamp Man multiple times using black Archival ink and over stamped the 1 and 3 from the Typography Stamps by Docrafts.  They were cut out and matted onto red card then onto blue leaving a narrow border.
The solid rosette from the Blue Ribbon set by Jenni Bowlin Studio was stamped in Vermilion Archival ink and fussy cut leaving a narrow border and peel off letters added in the centre.
A piece of white super smooth card 19.5cm x 13.8cm was matted onto red, then blue leaving a 0.5cm border each time.  'Caution! Teenager!' was stamped twice using the Tall Text letters by Tim Holtz and Stamper's Anonymous using Vermilion, Manganese Blue and Black Archival ink.  The hash tag stamp from the Number Blocks set (also by Tim Holtz and Stamper's Anonymous) was stamped in black and the '13' panel added.  A final Happy Birthday (from the Football Mad set) in Manganese Blue completed the stamping on the front of the card; the rosette was added using foam pads for dimension.
The inside of the card was stamped using the Birthday Candles stamp by Penny Black in Vermilion Archival ink.  There are thirteen candles, so this fit perfectly with the theme.  The German 'All the best on your birthday' sentiment was chosen as both I and my best friend who comes to all the matches with me, teach German. A couple of mini footballs in Vermilion, finish the inside of the card.
