The final door hanger in the series was for my youngest son, who enjoys writing and is a typical teenage boy! I initially wasn't going to include the pen; it was a late addition, which is why the stamping is not as well spaced as I would wish.
This time I used silver acrylic paint over the two coats of white gesso. I used two coats of the silver for a smooth, even finish; allowing each coat to dry before adding the next. The lips from the Bite Me set by Visible Image were stamped in Vermilion Archival ink and heat embossed using detail embossing powder.
I found that unless I was careful, the stamp was inclined to slip on the painted background. Therefore, I left the stamp sit on the surface for a little while before applying any pressure, so that the ink would help the grip of the acrylic stamp. The 'Bite Me' sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped using black Archival ink and embossed in the same way. The fountain pen stamp is from a now defunct company and was added as an afterthought; otherwise the images and sentiment would have been a little better spaced out.
