Clean and Simple Thank You Card

This is the first of my samples created with the fabulous Leafy Swirls stamp set and the matching 7" x 7" stencil from Claritystamp.   Don't miss Barbara Gray's shows this afternoon on Hochanda from 2pm - 4pm where she will be sharing loads more inspiration.

I started by cutting a 3” strip from piece of 7” x 7” stencil card, laying the bottom of leafy swirl stencil over it towards the left hand side and brushing Ocean Reef Artistry ink through.  I made sure that the ink became gradually less intense towards the right.  Once the stencil had been removed I lightly brushed the ink over to the right hand side of strip, continuing to fade out the colour.

I stamped the butterfly from the same stamp set onto the remaining piece of stencil card in Cobalt Blue archival ink.
It was coloured with Fancy Fuchsia and Fine Wine Artistry inks painted on with a water brush and fussy cut.
I made some antennae from silver wire and added them to the butterfly.
The stencilled strip of card was matted onto a piece of dark blue card leaving a narrow border top and bottom.
Next I stamped Thank You from Mini Word Chains 17 & 18 onto the front of a 7” x 7” card blank in Vibrant Fuchsia Archival ink.  Leaving the indexing on the stamp produces a lovely 2 tone effect. The stencilled strip was then added above the sentiment and trimmed.
To finish, I added the butterfly, gluing along the body only to allow the wings to be lifted.
I love the two tone effect of the sentiment which matches the colours used on the butterfly.

Another lovely card that could be made in advance & just adding a sentiment when needed.
