WOYWW 853/73: Crafting With A Difference

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

Another desk with a difference today.  I have taken to doing jigsaws and this is the latest one ready to be sorted.  We pass them round in our family and this is one that I got for Mum for her birthday last year.
I finally completed the one that was a gift from Eva a while back and which I will pass on to Mum.  I bought a few at Lidl at the weekend then realised I would need a bigger board - so I have ordered one.  I will then be able to work on two at once.
Eva and I took part in a workshop with Tilly Tea Dance on Saturday and this was the result.  It was good to meet up with Twiglet too, although if I had known it was her birthday the following day I would have brought a card!

I met up with a group of retired former colleagues yesterday lunchtime from my very first teaching job.  I hadn't seen most of them for nearly 30 years so it was really good to catch up.

Later today I am heading to Lichfield for the U3a showcase.  It is the first time I have been able to play for this as previous years I was at work.  I love retirement.

Stay safe everyone and Happy WOYWW.

Ah yes jigsaws I used to do loads.... The last one probably when I had my right hand operated on in 2021. I have one left to do which my son bought me years ago and I vowed to do it when I got my left hand done so I guess that will be very soon... Gorgeous felted picture one of the many things to get back to after recovery. Love your standing stones drawing, an ancient custom to mark special places. And loving retirement - go you! Hugs BJ#5

It was lovely to see you Sarah and Eva too. I'm glad you enjoyed Tilly's workshop - you both made beautiful Greek Island pictures. I've never tried that one! It's good to hear how busy you are in your retirement. x x Jo 🌈

So pleased you are enjoying your retirement! We find there are not enough hours in the day now that we are retired! Kevin teaches ukulele for U3A one morning a week - and then joins in various hum and strum sessions on other days. I must take a photo of current state of my impossible jigsaw. Love the felting and the sketches (cliff hanger is my favourite!)

Hi Sarah, sounds like you're getting used to the retirement thing. It's nice isn't it to be able to do the things that you couldn't fit in when working. I'm still hoping we can all get ogether next year as I've been sorting out some more older Clarity stamps that i would like to pass on to you hopefully but we'll see. Have a great woyww. Hugs Angela xXx

Looks like a fun jigsaw puzzle to complete, lots of colour! Sounds like you're having plenty of fun in your newly retired status :) Enjoy the showcase. Great drawings for the week, love the cliffhanger especially all those textures in the cliff. xx

Hi Sarah! You are enjoying retirement and that's how it should be. Great drawings this week, love the cliff hanger. Your Tilly workshop is very sweet. That jigsaw (paper folding) looks difficult, enjoy your new one. hugs Angela #13

Thrilled to read that you love retirement, it is pretty ace isn't it! Glad you've re-found the jigsaws, they really are a great mental beak for me, couldn't imagine my life without them, although my family seem to relish giving us really hard ones now - that paper folding one doesn't look a doddle I must say!

Yes, retirement is awesome! I love it too! Great job on the jigsaws! We often do one around Christmas, but that's it. Your "cliffhanger" drawing is my favourite this week - eek!! Lovely felted picture as well! Have a wonderful week! Lindart #15

Looks like my early morning comment got eaten, but, to recap: Love the sketches, the stack of stones and the contour in particular. I'll bet you are enjoying retirement a LOT, all the more time for fun puzzles and recorder groups. The felting is great - never done that but I always admired Twiglet's examples. That was as long as the original LOL!
A little late, but Happy WOYWW anyway!

My wife and daughters love putting puzzles together when they're visiting us, and I'll help sometimes too, so I can relate to your family activity. As always, I enjoyed perusing through your daily illustrations, but the cliff hanger really caught my eye. Happy belated WOYWW!
