WOYWW 814/34: Crop Update

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday), the brainchild of Julia, who was kindly entrusted it to me to continue after 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk shows the Retro Montage Layout stamps that I have been playing with lately.  I have a third set on the way.  They are great if you like working in small areas at a time.

My latest #dailyart2025 has been something different for me.  I am not used to water colouring even though I have a lot of different media along those lines.  I have been lightly drawing an image and following up with watercolour pens, pencils or paints.  I finish off with a graphite pencil sometimes.  I am spending no more than 20 minutes maximum on them and following the prompts from a FB group I am in (365 Days of Drawing Prompts and Other art).

Back to crop updates.  Having played phone tag with the volunteers at the hall we used last year, the 17th of May is definitely not an option.  Both the 3rd May (Bank Holiday weekend) and 10th May are available.  I am going up tomorrow to put down the deposit.  I would prefer the 3rd myself as it means that I don't have to miss my SRP (recorder group) meeting on the afternoon of the 10th, but appreciate that people may not be able to come then if they already have made plans for the Bank Holiday on the 5th.  Please let me know which you can make if you are intending to come, so I can book the one which is convenient to the majority.

I will be at work today for the first time in 2025 as we had a bonus snow day on Monday instead of the planned INSET day.  Glad I didn't set off as early as I normally would for work, as the text that the school was closed came through at 7.30am and I am usually just arriving at work then.
Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

good luck with your new daily challenge, very different from the collages last year! I am not sure yet about the Crop, I am afraid. of the two I think probably the 10th would be better for me. Happy WOYWW Helen #2

Good Morning Sarah, can't believe I remembered to link up when waking from not sleeping much! But I did - Yippee.
Loving the watercolours and thanks for mentioning where you were getting the prompts from as that was just what I was going to ask. Days 3 & 7 are my favourites, you are good with "water". I'm not doing a daily page this year, mine could take "hours" so a pleasant relief for me LOL, I am thinking I ought to make a journal for the odd moment though, my son got some good wrapping paper on a Birthday present I want to use.
I'd love to come to a crop but the thought of traveling even gives me the heebie-jeebies, such a shame as I'd love to meet you all. Where is it again? just in case I find some confidence this year? Thanks Sarah, Hugs BJ #3

You must have had a lot of snow then, hope it’s gone a bit now - lovely to look at, not so great to get around. I’m happy with either date for the Crop.

I'm loving your latest daily challenges....I think 20 mins is a very short time to do them in so you have done really well [I would still be deciding what to do :-) ].
I will put the 3rd down in my diary now...I'm hopeful.
Hugs,
Annie x

Hi Sarah, would have liked the 10th but as far as I can see the 3rd should be okay too. Well done for starting your new daily journal challenge. Have a good woyww. Hugs Angela x7x

Loving the new challenge. And not likely to make the crop, given the two skating events (In Sheffield and Nottingham) between then and now. Unlikely I could make the Hubster do that trip AGAIN in the space of 6 weeks!
Sneaking in a few before leaving for Drs.

I'm going to be an irritating fence sitter, I can do either date. I rather suspect that traffic and rail conditions for a Bank holiday weekend might well push preferences to the 10th.

Then I forgot to say how nice to see watercolouring in action, makes for a very different looking journal this year! I wonder which method of watercolour is emerging as your preferred?

Hi Sarah, I love your new daily challenge, such fresh and clear watercolours. Regarding the crop, I’d much rather not travel on a bank holiday weekend so the 10th would be better for me. Stay safe and warm up there.
Happy WOYWW

I like your stamp set! I also like your dailyart work. I too am playing around with watercolors. I am afraid to show anything. I don't draw and sketching is so much a part of watercoloring.

I liked your collages and I thinks your daily art this year will be equally as intriguing!
Enjoy your first workday of this year!
