WOYWW 656: Quiet Christmas

Happy WOYWW - another palindrome for LLJ to celebrate.  I hope you have all had a pleasant, safe Christmas.  We kept things small and did as we did last year and went over to our two eldest sons' place to cook Christmas dinner together (and delicious it was).

I can finally show the results of my first Tilly Teadance needle felting workshop as Mum's birthday was on Monday.  We were going to celebrate together, but Mum and Dad decided it was safe to postpone a big family get together until Dad's birthday in May, so we will have a double celebration then.  I did get a chance to video chat though and she liked her present.
This photo shows my version of Max's seagull which I also started at the workshop and finished as a Christmas gift to my sister.  Not a patch on Maxine's work but I was pleased with the result and my sister liked it which is the main thing.

I am coming to the end of my daily drawing challenge.  I may try a 5 minute journal page a day as an alternative in 2022.  I have a 4" x 4" spiral bound kraft card scrapbook and have already started gessoing pages to get ahead.  I will have to see how things go though as I am not so sure I will be able to keep this going on a daily basis and it may become a once a week project instead.  Happy WOYWW.  Stay safe everyone.

What superb felt pictures - do you know, I initially looked at today's entry without my glasses and thought you had moved on to watercolouring as your new daily challenge!

Hi Sarah, the little seagull is lovely, you must have had such fun on the workshop. It is sad to keep having to postpone events, but you now have a double celebration to look forward to. Have a great New Year, take care, Heather xx #10

Well done you with the needlefelting . . . . love them both and no wonder they were loved by the recipients.
Celebrating in May is a good idea . . . . picnics outside . . . . December birthdays rarely get those . . . although Peter did enjoy bbq on Jan 1st!
Have a good week and stay safe

The felting is great, Sarah! Not sure which one is yours and which one is Maxine's - I can see they're different but I really like both of them! Don't overcommit yourself for next year - see how it goes. Doing a journal page every single day for a whole year could be quite daunting, unless it's something very simple. I was glad when my advent challenge was over LOL and that was just 24 days! Wishing you a very happy new year! xx zsuzsa #21

It’s great that you made those presents at a workshop Sarah, my experience is that anything I make that comes out so well is hard to part with! Unsurprised that your Mum and your sister were happy with them, they’re lovely. I can’t offer any advice about a daily discipline at your desk, you’ve done so well with the drawings but I expect you’re ready for a different challenge, even if it feels like a stretch at this point.
