WOYWW 568: Back to Home Working

Well the Easter holidays flew by and I am back on my laptop three days a week working from home.  I admit therefore, that my desk photo was taken yesterday afternoon and this post written after I finished the three cards that I had just started at the time.
The fourth card to the right hand side I had made earlier in the day.  As no workshops can take place at the moment, Maria Moorhouse has found a virtual way to keep us going.  A set of materials and four full colour project sheets through the post and an email link to private YouTube demos of the projects.  I thought it was about time that I finished the remaining two projects as it will be time to sign up to the next class soon.  I was so busy that I had no time to replenish my Toffee Nut Latte lol.  As you can see, Tom and Peter are still keeping me company and occasionally I Face Time with Eva if the internet plays along.  I also tune in to Barbara Gray's FB live sessions each weekday morning at 10am.  Even though I am not doing the doodling, it is nice to have virtual company, whether I am crafting or doing school work.

These are the finished cards based on project 4 of the workshop.

It is only 4 weeks until the 11th anniversary of What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday  and I shall be making an ATC to share on my desk that morning.  I can't see much getting posted this year as the royal Mail are so overstretched at the moment, but we could all share something on the day.  Thanks so much to Julia over at the Stamping Ground for starting (and keeping going) this weekly get together.  It is never too late to start joining in or just visiting desks if you are so inclined.  Happy WOYWW and a shout out to my Y8 pupils.  I will be round to visit desks once I have finished all my school chores for the day.  I hope you are all well and that Elizabeth and Christine are fully recovered!

Love the seahorse card on your desk. Wish he had joined the other lovely cards youa re showing us this morning as he is my favourite although i do like them all.
That's a good idea about the atc's - I agree we maybe should not add to the Royal Mail too much as they are over stretched.
Glad we are not the only two not keken on gardening, I used to do it but it was a case of keeping tidy rather than knowing what I was up to and planting in the right places. I have now learnt not to put tall flowers at the front LOL. That is when I no longer can do it!LOL

I swear we’re all using too much internet, ours has been very sketchy for a couple of weeks. It feels as if it drops off at peak times! Probably imagining that, but lunchtime in particular, is a prob. But complain not, I’d rather have some than none! Love the cards, they are really nice colour blends. I probably wouldn’t add any more to them because I get to a point where I like it and therefore can move on. So impatient! Hope the school work is going well, are you getting a chance to future plan I wonder? a maybe it doesn’t work like that. I thought I’d have written about a million blog posts by now......you already know that I haven’t!!

I am so in love with your new cards they have really brightened the day, gorgeous colours. You say you're working from home but I'm interested to know how this is going to work. You know we used to be teachers too and I'm just interested to know how schools are managing this. Have a lovely crafty week and happy woyww, Angela 17x

What gorgeous cards, Sarah. I love your backgrounds. Simple, and bold. The seahorse one is lovely too. Hope you are coping OK with working from home again. I think I would lack the discipline these days!! Thank you for your visit. I was amused by your “considered purchase” comment about our garden umbrella - a euphemism for expensive!! Yes, too right. That’s why we took so many years to decide to buy one eventually! But well worth it. Everyone says it’s vey “me” and I have to agree with them! There are several things over the years that I didn’t buy because I didn’t think I could justify the cost, and have regretted it ever since. Sometimes you’ve just got to go for it and follow your heart! There was a fabulous brass African necklace and a growly tiger to mention a couple... They definitely had my name on them and I often wonder where they ended up. I haven’t come across Barbara Gray and must look her up - she sounds like my cup of tea! Lily and Ruby say “meaow” back!

Happy WOYWW,
Shoshi x #15 (missed the #1 slot this a.m. despite Julia being late - still asleep!)

Fabulous cards Sarah - I love the seahorse, what a gorgeous stamp - and the fern leaf on the green cards is beautiful too, very summery. I also love the idea of showing an ATC for the anniversary as I'm trying to use the postal service as little as I can too.
Hope you have a good week, stay safe and well,

Morning Sarah, I love that sea horse card but my fav is the last, reminds me of a shoal of fish swimming as one happy family. Like Angela i'm interested to hear how your getting on working from home, only today they've issued concerns of children not attending online schooling. I know i'd never have coped when I was an educator or a Parent of three, it's all very interesting..
Take care & stay very safe Hugs Tracey xx

Hi Sarah
There is so much going on online it's hard to keep up with it all isn't it. I've been watching Barbara's doodling and would love to try but just haven't had time yet.
Love all your cards.

My internet connection is very slow here. There are so many people working from home and also doing school work. I try and be patient as I know it is a fact of life. I've been doing some yard work and spending time in the sunshine. Your cards are lovely!

Hi Sarah, I love the seahorse card, gorgeous colours. I did look up Barbara Gray when you mentioned her doodling the other week - her first youtube/facebook video made me laugh when she kept asking if it was working and could anyone hear her. I did think about DVD cases for stamps, but they would need a lot of shelf space, hence the ring binders- they can hold a lot! Have a lovely week, and have stay safe, Heather xx #28

I think that all the people using the internet more from home have put a higher demand on it. ( I tend to have better luck with ours either before the sun comes up or very late on the weekends) I am just glad it has not broken under the stress. Love the colors of the cards you have finished Sarah, ~Stacy #33

Your cards are lovely, I think I know what the project was! I also love the seahorse - is it the Lavinia one? Glad you are keeping busy, we are all learning how to be technophobes, I'm wondering how much of this will remain the same after the virus is gone? Thanks for the reminder of the anniversary, I will try and get an ATC done since we are sharing virtually this time! Thanks for your visit to mine, stay well, stay busy, and stay safe! Lindart #34

Hi Sarah,
Thank you for your visit - sorry for the belated return - I'm trying to get round all the desks but have fallen very behind!

I've lingered for a while in your craft shed and enjoyed looking at all your recent posts - love the daily "quickies". I'm trying to make sure there's a bit of creativity every day to counterbalance working from home too.

Have a productive week and stay safe on your fortnightly trip into work.

Good morning, Sarah.
I'm hoping for a lovely day in the Ozarks though the sun hasn't come up yet. Ugh. We are to have storms later in the day. Good day for cleaning/ crafting.
Lovely cards! Wow, really only 4 weeks away from our anniversary. I best get crackin'!

I am trying to decide which card is my favorite. I think it is between the seahorse and the one with the tree on it. They are all so pretty. I took my photo the day before too because if I did it on the day, I wouldn't post until late Wednesday.
Today we are experiencing a rainy day. So no outdoors for me. Tomorrow I will begin weeding my garden. A task that takes me days so I have to find sunny days to make it happen.
Thank for the visit and stay well.
