Quarantine Quickie #19 and #20: Cold Feet / By the Book

With these two tags, my journal now has 20 pages on the book ring.  I am still thoroughly enjoying interpreting the Quarantine Quickie prompts over on Mission Inspiration.

Add the top layer of a paper towel mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag. Seal it with matte medium, dry with a heat gun and trim the excess.
Add the teeny weenie forests from the Stag Outline and Snow Globe Outline stamp sets in Black Soot archival ink. Add an offset shadow to each in Hickory Smoke archival ink.
Brush Midnight Blue artistry ink over the top of the tag (above the tree line) using a Clarity stencil brush.
Add a moon into the sky by pouncing white acrylic paint through the moon mask outer with a foam tool.
Add the ‘In the Bleak Midwinter’ stave across the moon and sky in Black Soot archival ink.
Add the teeny weenie man and child and the teeny weenie dog stamp from the Grove Trees Outline stamp set in the same ink as before.
Add yellow shading to the music stave and blue shading to the ground beneath the characters feet using watercolour pencils. To finish, hand write the prompt using a black micron pen.
The second tag took a little more thought.
Add a copy paper mop up sheet to a #8 manilla tag, seal with matte medium, dry and trim. The print from the back of the copy paper shows through which fits with the theme of ‘By the Book’.
Stamp the frame from the Brilliant Work of Art set from Clarity in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Add ‘My Art Journal’ (mini word chains 1&2) within the frame in the same way.
Decorate the ‘book cover’ using the brushes and paint palette from the same stamp set as the frame. Stamp in Onyx Black Versafine ink and heat emboss with clear powder.
Use a white gel pen to highlight the frame, the brushes and the palette.
Add colour and shading with Faber-Castell Big Brush markers blended out with a Pergamano blending pen and nibs.
To finish, hand write the prompt using a black micron pen.
I suppose that I could use this page as the front cover of the journal.

Love the Christmas tag, but when you say a paper towel mop up sheet is the sheet coloured first or when it’s on the tag.
Thank you

A paper towel mop up sheet is a piece of paper towel which has been previously used to mop up ink. It is already inky. Ijust split the layers and use one of them.
