Floral Forest: Mineral Powders over Gel Medium

I wanted to try out some of my recent Pentart purchases with some new stamps and stencils from Claritystamp.  For a change, I also decided to work on black card.
I worked directly onto the front of a 7" x 7" black card blank from Claritystamp.  Using two A5 mask blanks, I sectioned off a panel down the front of the card.  The new A5 Floral Forest stencil was laid over the top and Pentart Heavy Body Matte Gel dragged through.  Once the stencil had been carefully removed, Pentart Mineral Powder (Copper-Granite Fine) was shaken over the top and the excess removed.  The masks were then removed too.  I love the effect of the texture and the sparkle of the mineral powders.  The card was set aside to dry for a couple of hours.
I cut a 5" x 5" black card blank in half and stamped the #1 outline stamp from the Floral Forest three way overlay stamp set into the centre using Versamark ink.  This was then heat embossed using detail copper embossing powder.
Using the #2 line art stamp from the same set, I stamped over the top in Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide and used a Pergamano blending pen and nib to smooth out the ink in some areas.
I then trimmed round the image following the outline of the stamp.
This was added onto the front of the card using foam pads (but not where the topper would overlap the textured panel).
On an offcut of the black card (10cm x 2.5cm) I stamped 'How Very Kind' from mini word chains 19&20 in Versamark ink and heat embossed in Copper EP.
This had Cracked Pistachio gently rubbed over the top using my finger and was added to the card.  I used a foam pad on the right and glue on the left where it overlapped the topper.  Once again, I avoided any adhesive over the textured panel.
These stamps and their sister set will be demonstrated by Barbara Gray this afternoon on Hochanda from 2pm until 4pm.  I look forward to seeing what the rest of the design team came up with.

Thanks again for sharing another great card, the technique could be used for other stamps & masks as well.
