Mothers are the Stitches That Hold a Family Together!

This tag was made for the monthly challenge over on the That's Crafty Challenge Blog: A Stitch in Time.  It didn't take a great deal of time to make, thanks to my stash of inky backgrounds.
I keep all my colourful paper towel mop up sheets.  Recently however, I have also taken to cleaning the ink off my stamps by stamping onto a background which has a similar colour scheme to the ink that I am using.  This sheet came about when stamping backgrounds onto a set of ATCs in shades of pink and purple Archival ink, using the Journaling Stamps from Claritystamp.  The top layer of paper towel was added to a #8 manilla tag, sealed, dried and trimmed.
I die cut the Mannequin from Marianne Creatables out of dark purple card and added it to the tag.  It was sealed with gel medium and dried to create a non porous surface.  Faber Castell Big Brush Markers in shades of dark pink and purple were then used to add shading on the mannequin and shadows around it.
The next step was to add faux stitching along the bottom and right hand side of the tag using one of the stamps from the Stamped Stitches set by Hot Off The Press.  It was stamped several times in deep purple Archival ink.
Finally, one of the sentiments from the Knit and Stitch stamp set by Die'Sire Sentimentals was added in the same ink.  Hand drawn running stitches were added all round using a purple Sakura PN Micron pen.
