The prompt for the monthly ATC swap over on Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art is the letter B. As I have worked on that prompt before, I had to be mindful not to repeat myself. All stamps used are by Claritystamp as always for my ATCs.
As I had recently created a journal page background on Yupo paper (see HERE), I decided to use the same technique for two of the ATCs. I glued SAA Yupo paper to two of my card backgrounds (2.5" x 3.5") and trimmed them to fit. The first ATC was originally going to be B is for Birdhouse, but as you will see, I changed my mind after the second step. I started by adding blending solution, then Alcohol inks in Juniper, Aqua, Sail Boat Blue, Pool and Stonewashed, blowing through a straw to add interest.
Next I added some Kanban silver foil to the thicker, stickier areas before they dried completely. It was at this point that I realised that the pattern reminded me of Bubbles. I added the letter B (Claritystamp Word Chain Alphabet) in Cobalt Blue Archival ink, went over it with a dark blue ProMarker, then added the wording using the same ProMarker with a fine tip attached. For the second ATC: B is for Bauble, I used my more usual method of creating. The Bauble (Twas the Night 4) was masked off from the wording, inked up in Onyx Black Versafine ink, the masking removed and the bauble alone stamped onto my ATC blank. This was then heat embossed using clear EP. A selection of my Royal Talens Ecoline pens and a water brush were then used to colour the bauble and the background. Finally, the same letter B as before was stamped and embossed in the same way as the bauble, then the rest of the wording added using a Sakura EP black micron pen. For the last ATC: B is for balloons, I created the background using the same method as for the first one.
I stamped and heat embossed the two smallest balloons from the Hot Air Balloon set onto a separate piece of card. These were coloured in the same way as the bauble, fussy cut and added to the background. Finally the letter and wording were added in the same way as the first ATC, but this time in Black. I am really pleased with the way that they turned out and I hope my swap partner is too!
