Just a quick card today. Yet another masculine one - being the only female in the household means that I have to make a lot of these!
It just so happens that 7 of the smallest hexagon dies fit perfectly across an A5 landscape card (21cm). My youngest son likes minimalist cards, so when I found the Happy Patterns stamp set by Hot of the Press on sale in my local craft shop, I knew that they would be perfect for his birthday card. I already had the hexagon nesting dies by XCut, and when I put the two items together; perfection.
I cut 3 of the smallest hexagons each in turquoise and navy blue card and 2 further hexagons in a pearlescent mid-blue card. As I was intending to use silver peel-offs to match the silver embossing, I stamped the outline stamp onto 4 of the die cuts (2 navy and 2 turquoise), and used 4 of the other patterned hexagon stamps on the rest. I used a Versamark ink pad and Heat it Up silver embossing powder. Having arranged the embossed hexagons onto the front of my card blank - a piece of A4 white linen card folded in half - I glued them on, and simply added the peel-offs to finish. Quick, easy, minimalist and clean looking; perfect for a teenage boy who doesn't like frills, flowers or fuss!
