WOYWW 823/43: What A week

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday), the brainchild of Julia, who has kindly entrusted it to me to continue after 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.  I must apologise for not visiting last week - Saturday was the anniversary of Paul's death and yesterday I had a departmental review in school so I have been up to my neck with work.

My desk therefore has contained nothing but my laptop, #dailyart2025 and secret stuff for the last couple of weeks.  This is a candid shot of my typical breakfast - fat free Greek yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries and granola.

There have been some very challenging prompts this week but Saturday's was on the nose.

The school is interviewing for my replacement on Friday so I am off timetable for the morning to participate in lesson observations.  Back to normal lessons in the afternoon while the formal interviews take place.  Assessments are coming up for KS3 so I will have plenty of marking to keep me occupied. Thank goodness for my recorder groups.

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

No-one will be surprised you weren't able to visit last week. The year has flown, but I am sure for you it feels as though it has been forever. Take care. Happy WOYWW Helen #1

Aw sweetie, my title last week too! These anniversaries definitely knock us for six don't they. The prompt for Saturday certainly was on the nose, now I'm pondering Paul's middle name. "Love" the first one for 5th, well done. Hope the interviews highlight a good candidate who will slot into place so that you can rest assured that your hard work with the children will be carried on. Love and hugs bj#2

Thinking of you and praying too Sarah, it’s not easy… I wondered as I looked at images in relation to prompts, who thinks of them as there certainly were some difficult ones. I’m currently struggling with a soccer card for a 12y.o or football as you call it, I had a cricket card all figured then found out it’s passé and now it’s soccer. I’ve learnt I’m not very mathematical! I’m sure the 12 y.o will pick up my flaws but it’s the best I can do 😆😂

The saddest of anniversaries, I’m so very sorry Sarah, you’ve had so much to deal with. Sending big hugs xx. And though you’re looking forward to retirement, the recruitment process must feel slightly weird too,

Sounds like you’ve had some challenges this week. But also things will ease soon. Replacement? Moving on or retirement? Sorry, bet you’ve said but I can barely keep a thought in my head lately. Lately? Ever, lol! Maybe I need to take up recorder to help keep me sane! Loving your bowl, looks yummy, and your sketches are always a joy. Happy WOYWW!

What a week for you and another one to follow, just as busy. That year has flown by. Don't worry about visiting desks - we will still be here when the pressure is off. I love that chameleon 😃x x Jo 🌈

What a difficult week for you but well done for getting through it. No apologies needed at all my friend. I was AWOL too but you will understand why when you see my blog. Life sometimes gets in the way.

Hi Sarah, of course we understand. Now that's my sort of breakfast. Hope Friday goes well and they find a good replacement though obviously they wont be as good as you! Take care and have a happy woyww. Hugs Angela x10x

Sounds like it's been quite the emotional week for you and definitely time for some self care. You've still managed to commit to your daily drawings which is brilliant. Love the whimsical house and yes, Saturday's prompt was a fit for its timing. I have almost the same breakfast as you every morning. Same ingredients, except mine includes eggs and is cooked into a cake, cooled and cut into six slices, so all I do is grab a piece to eat each morning. :D xx

You have been a busy gal! Anniversaries like that are difficult, big hugs❤️. Great drawings, it was hard to choose, the first one is the Leonard Cohen song that I love, but the chamelion is SO cute! Your breakfast looks delicious! Have a great week, Lindart #17

A tough week for you Sarah, work is a distraction and a hindrance, I'm glad you have recorder and crafting to help. It's difficult to understand that it's a year since Paul died, please have love and admiration for your getting up and going on. I know you have to and I know too that Paul would expect nothing less, but there have to have been days when you didn't want to. Probably still are. You're doing well. Xx
