WOYWW 781: The End of An Era

Welcome to my first hosting of WOYWW and many, many thanks to Julia (and Jan) who kept this blog hop going for the first 15 years.  I am honoured that Julia has passed the baton to me hope that it can continue for many years to come.  She has walked me through adding Mister Linky so hopefully all will be plain sailing.

From top left: Angela (Crafty Cat), Neet x2, Cindy, Jo (Twiglet), Lynne, Annie (Wipso), Julia, Caro, Eva, Mary-Anne, Lynne (again).  Large background paper by Pat Brennan

My desk shows the wonderful ATC swaps made at the crop last weekend.  I am sorry but there will be lots of photos lol.

Eva, Pat and the back of Cindy
Helen and Lynne (Brian came too)

Angela, Annie, Jo, Caro and Mary-Anne
                                         Jo, Caro and Mary-Anne
Julia chatting to everyone in turn.

Thanks to Helen for sending me a group photo as I ran out of battery in my camera before I could have one taken.  Thanks to Brian (Lynne's hubby) for the photo taking.

Pat, Lynne. Caro, Neet, me. Jo, Cindy, Annie, Julia, Angela, Eva, Helen, Mary-Anne

The raffle together with the swap and donate table raised an amazing £88.50, which I paid to the British Heart Foundation on Monday.  Thanks to everyone who came for their generosity.

These are the beautiful pots and plants that Julia bought me (and a set for Eva) for organising the crop.  I enjoyed potting them up yesterday morning.  We will be booking the same venue for the crop again next year as it was a brilliant location - with its own break out cafe area for lunch and lots of space for cake, biscuits and drinks.  Watch this space...

Hey Sarah, great to see the link up nice and early! you don't seem to have an atc from me though, did I not give you one? if not I will send one to you. Well done taking over the baton of host ! It was lovely to see everyone. Happy WOYWW and thanks for sunday too. Helen #1

Congrats on being the new host of WOYWW with post number 781 and thanks for hosting the Crop last Saturday, along with Eva, which was held in a delightful village with a fabulous buttie bar (that did more than butties!) and a pub that did fabulous food too. Mmm, wouldn't mind living there in the village but then I said that about the last Crop too. Maybe it's the magic of the Crop?
Sorry about the cake!
Hugs, Neet 2 xx

Whoop whoop, I only found out last night that there had been a reprieve, I am over the moon and quickly wrote a blog post.... Great crop photos and such a shame for me that it's so far away but I'd love to try and join in with an on-line hello next time if possible, didn't realise you did such a thing. You should be getting an ATC from me to add to your haul, I posted them all yesterday morning and only by emailing my SWAP partners as such did I find out you were taking the helm. So pleased as I was in fits of despair last Wednesday! Long may it continue Hugs BJ#3

Well done at getting organised so quickly, loving the photos. What a great day we had. The venue was just perfect but I don't think it would matter where we were! we'd still have a great time. Thanks for organising it all. Wishing you all the best and a happy woyww, Angela x13x

Really happy to read you have taken on the WoywW baton from Julia Sarah, even though I've not joined in for a good few years due to other commitments I remember how lovely the group was always so kind and caring. Looks like you had a grand time at the crop last Saturday, so many happy faces, the ATC's look fab.
Take care of yourself and enjoy every moment Hugs Tracey xx

Good morning, Miss Sarah!
Thank you for taking this on. I know you'll make WOYWW your own while honoring Miss Julia.
A lovely group of friends, for sure! As per the case, I'm sure there was more visiting than crafting. hehe
I look forward to getting to know you on this new journey in your life.
Creative Blessings & Hugs! ~ Kelly #16

Weirdness abounds! Mrs. Ds link goes to a generic Blogger page. CraftyAni's link gives an error. Nicky's link goes to Instagram where it says comments are "limited" and you can't comment. Teething problems I imagine but hopefully soon sorted!

And OF COURSE I got a Failed to Publish message this time. Grrrr.

Well done Sarah for taking this on! There will be a lot of happy bunnies out there! Me included. The pictures of the crop look great, I only wish I had wings and could've flown up there, but it was just a bit too far for me...and then son in law changed his birthday party to last week instead of this coming week. Maybe next time I could join in on zoom? (Oh yes, I have seen a pig fly!)'Have a great week! Happy (new) WOYWW!? ((Lyn)) #16

HI Sarah! Thank you so much for taking over WOYWW! I was afraid it would be gone forever, and I am so relieved not to lose all the friends I have made on the weekly hop! The crop seems to have gone very well, I love all the photos and all the faces to the names! You certainly scored a lot of beautiful ATCs! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #18

Morti said...

Yay! I'm glad you've picked up the baton, it would have been a shame to rejoin only to have the whole thing cease :D I may get around to making some belated ATCs - I want to do one for Helen, whom I was going to swap with and may as well make more than one hehehe. Happy hopping!

Hello Sarah, I'm so glad you've saved the day and taken over WOYWW. It would have been sad to see it stop altogether. It's been a great virtual meeting place for so many of us over the years and I'm sure it will continue for many more. Your collection of ATCs are lovely - a great reminder of the crop which, from seeing the photos, must have been fun. Have a lovely week. Hugs, Elizabeth #21

Hi there Sarah, just popping in to let you know that I am glad you took over hosting WOYWW so Julia can enjoy her well-deserved retirement from it, you are a worthy successor and I do hope to join in every now and then, when time and work and life let me... well done for your first WOYWW-post! Love from the Netherlands!
