Simple Groovi Birthday Card

I rejoined the Clarity New Design Groovi club for the first time in years and I am determined to play with each plate as it arrives.  The one for January 2026 is a pretty jug of flowers and the projects that accompany it are exquisite.  However, I stuck with something smaller and simpler to create this 5x5 birthday card.

Die cut a piece of Rainbow River parchment using the 4.25" nested square picot die.

Add a double line inside the picot edge using the corresponding Groovi plate and the 1mm Pergamano ball tool.

Add the line art from club plate #121, using the same tool, as it appears on the plate, but omitting the pattern on the jug.

Using the dotty section of the jug pattern, add dots all over the jug, moving the parchment around and adding the dots evenly.

Emboss the flowers and leaves with the 4.5mm Pergamano ball tool working from the tips working on the soft side of a black Groovi mat and working from the back.  Allow to rest between layers (Linda Williams advises at least 20 minutes).

I left my project after first layer and added further layers of embossing using the 4.5mm tool between other projects the next day.

Next I went back over the embossing using the 3mm  tool.

The tips of the flowers and leaves were finished with the 1.5mm tool - allowing to rest in between layers as always.  Using a Faber-Castell white ended eraser, take out the colour on the back of the vase working on the hard side of a black Groovi mat.

Die cut a mat from a piece of Companion paper using the same picot die as for the parchment.
Attach the parchment to the paper using small gold brads.
To finish, attach to the front of a 5" x 5" white card blank.
