Pretty Paper Hearts

The current challenge over on Try It On Tuesday is Pretty Papers.  Clarity Crafts certainly have an amazing selection to choose from. They make beautiful Scandinavian Hearts if woven together.  Here I worked with Toscana designer papers.

Cut two pieces each from two different Toscana designer papers measuring 6cm x 9.5cm. Cut slits 1.5cm apart from one end of each piece 6.5cm in length. Lay the pieces together and curve the ends opposite the slits. (I used a template but this is what each piece measures). Also cut a smaller piece from each designer paper measuring 4cm x 6.25cm. Cut slits 1cm apart up to 4cm from one end, curve the opposite ends to match.

Take one piece of each paper in the same size and weave them together to create a heart shape. Once evenly woven, add a dot of glue under the end of each loose piece (starting at the point of the heart) to hold each heart together.

Trim a piece of 7” x 7” Clarity stencil card to 6.75” x 6.75”. Stamp Congratulations (Mini Word Chains 11&12) and It’s Amazing News (Mini Word Chains 9&10) in black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder.
Add the panel to the front of a 7” x 7” black card blank.
Add the smallest heart in the bottom left corner.
Stamp the chequered stamp from the Mixed Media Journal set three times in black ink, this time without embossing.
To finish, add the two large hearts to the front of the card.
