Hobby Coasters: Part Three

This is the final part in the series sharing the coasters which I made for my Mum's birthday.  They say that great minds think alike; my twin sister also bought our Mum some beautiful coasters, but hers were glass.

The last two hobbies represented are obviously baking and gardening.  All the stamps used for the baking coaster are from the Perfect Mix stamp set in the Home Life collection by Sheena Douglass.  Once stamped in place, I used distress markers and a water brush to colour the mixer and gently brushed Tumbled Glass distress ink around the edge of the card.  A row of weights stamped in grey on the back and the customary Handmade by stamp from Clarity stamp coloured with distress markers to match the rest completed this coaster.

The final coaster took a little more planning.  First of all I stamped the wellies from the Picnic stamp set in the Summer Bloom collection by Papermania using  green versafine ink, added a black outline using a fine liner and coloured the flowers with a distress marker.  Once the Home Grown sentiment from the stamp set of the same name by Sheena Douglass had been stamped into place, both images were masked off and the whole piece of 8.9cm x 8.9cm card was over stamped using the Weathered Brick background stamp (also by Sheena) and Tree Branch archival ink.  For the back I used the row of small flowerpots in grey from the Dig for Victory stamp set as well as the ubiquitous Handmade by stamp.
