|Made into an easel card.|
I started with a piece of A5 heavyweight watercolour card and coated it with white gesso. Once dry I added stripes of Gelatos in Black Licorice, Black Cherry, Grape, Raspberry, Boysenberry and Blueberry.
I then smudged each line to blend them together, using a clean finger for each section.
The fun part was spritzing the card liberally with water, tilting the card to make the colours run, then using my fingers to drag out and blend the colours until the entire card was covered with fantastic colours. Very messy, but I love that sort of crafting!
I made sure that the card was completely dry using my heat gun, then ran the whole thing through my embossing machine in the Snow embossing folder by Crafter's Companion from their Elements Collection. The embossing was emphasised using gold Gilding Wax. At this point I trimmed the card back to 13.8cm x 20cm and turned it the other way up to form an impression of the night sky.
I really didn't want to cover much of the background as I loved so much, so I simply cut a tree-scape strip using one of the Tattered Lace dies from the Scene Stepper card set, out of Clarity black coated card.
The finishing touch was a die cut star (from the Tattered Lace Nativity set) in gold.
The panel was matted onto gold card (14.3cm x 20.5cm) and then onto a piece of A5 black card. I made an easel card from a matching piece of A4 black card (scored in half with one gatefold scoreline) and glued the front panel onto the bottom, folded section of the front of the card. In order to hold the easel in place, I die cut the Peace on Earth edger die by Crafter's Companion from some of the Clarity black coated card, matted it onto some more of the gold card and trimmed it off. This was added to the inside of the back of the card, near the bottom, using foam pads to add height.
