Zentangle Tiles

I was recently looking through a pile of cards that I had made for members of the family and saved; I came across this card which was one of my first attempts at zentangling.  As I wasn't very confident with this technique at the time, I used small tiles to practise each pattern and later added them to the card.

The 8 tiles were punched out using a Martha Stewart 1.5" anywhere on the page punch.  I found an amazing website tangle.com which has hundreds of zentangle designs to try out.  I don't remember the names of the eight patterns which I used on this card, but I had great fun trying them all.

Once the tiles were complete, I was ready to arrange the front of the card.  The base card was made from a piece of A4 linen card, folded in half and cut to 14.8cm square.  A 14cm x 14cm black mat provided the background and the tiles were arranged around the outside and glued into place.  The centre piece consists of a black doily cut using a Marianne Creatables die with the inner circle cut from white and matted on top.  The hummingbird image from the Birds of Paradise stamp set by Kanban was stamped in black, together with a small With Love sentiment.  The 'Hubby' was a peel off which I added later.
