Welcome Little One

This card was made for a colleague, who recently had a beautiful baby boy.  As she finally received the card yesterday, I can share it with you.

As many of my cards do, this started with a tag; unlike previous cards, the tag was then hidden behind a frame.  The tag was over stamped with the Rubber Stampede baby background using Cobalt Blue archival ink.  I then used watered sown white gesso, followed by some Izink pigment inks mixed with water to do a colour wash over the top.
Once dried with a heat gun, I ran the tag through the baby clothes embossing folder by Cuttlebug to add texture.
I die cut a frame from grunge paper using the second and fifth frame in from the Noble Pierced Background Rectangles die set by Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions.  This was then painted with white gesso and some Cracked Pistachio distress paint was dry brushed over the top.  I also cut and embossed the pram die from Marianne and coloured the embossed areas with the matching distress ink.
'Welcome', 'Benjamin' and the hand prints were stamped using Perfect Medium and a range of colours from the Pearlustre Embossable Dream kit by Stampendous; Alexandrite, Sapphire, Azurite and Emerald, to create an ombre effect with the embossing.  Unfortunately the heat buckled the frame as it was the first time that I had heat embossed onto grunge paper.
The tag, frame and pram were added to an A5 white card, which was trimmed at the bottom.  The final touch was a teddy bear embellishment from my stash, which matched the colour tones of the card perfectly.  A happy coincidence, as this was a last minute thought.
