I thought I'd put my money where my mouth is. I knew that yesterday's card design could be used for a multitude of occasions, so I used the same layout for this Christmas card. What a difference a change of theme and colour scheme makes!
Once again I started with a plain #8 manila tag but this time I stamped it with the 'Gloria in Excelsis Deo' background stamp by Personal Impressions, using Black Archival ink. Before adding the two shades of gold (Iridescent Gold and Iridescent Precious Gold studio acrylic paint by Pebeo), I gave the stamped tag a wash with watered down white gesso.
I stencilled Iridescent Blue Black Studio Acrylic paint by Pebeo (mixed with a little plain black acrylic) through the Christmas Words metal stencil by Sweet Poppy Stencils. As you can see, I overloaded my brush a little too much at the top of the tag, but covered it up by positioning my angel strategically later!
The base card is made from a piece of cream A4 card, scored and folded in half. I used the Gloria Background stamp and Black Archival ink to stamp around the edge of the card.
The background panel of black pearlescent card (20cm x 13.8cm) was embossed using the 8" x 8" Embossalicious Music folder by Crafter's Companion and rubbed over with Golden Light gilding wax by Creative Expressions before being added to the card.

Before
I added the tag to the card, I found some narrow satin black ribbon, a coloured ribbon and some black fibres to put through the hole at the top of the tag. Sue Wilson's 2015 Angel was cut twice; once from black pearlescent and once from gold pearlescent card; I glued the two layers together
to create a drop shadow effect and made sure that I positioned the angel to cover up the less effective stencilling at the top of the tag.
To finish, I used the 'Joy to the World' header die by Crafter's Companion to cut a narrow border which I added at the bottom of the black background panel. This was done, both to tie in
with the music/angel theme, as well as to bring in the gold card used to create the drop shadow for the angel. This was a really quick card to make, as I already had a design to work from - only the colours and theme needed to be changed.
