Using A Limited Colour Palette

After a class with the fabulous Maria Moorhouse from Claritystamp, where we worked on five cards using a two colour palette of greys and yellow, I had a piece of copy paper that I had used to clean up my ink mat.  I decided to use part of it as a background for a tag and see what I could make of it.  This is not a colour combination that I would have thought to use myself, but I love all the cards that we made (not for sharing here) and my bonus tag.

Creativity Is Good For The Soul!

I worked on this tag for the November Challenge on Visible Image, which was simply to create a tag using their stamps.  I used a mix of some old favourites and one of their newer sentiments.  I couldn't resist this challenge as I love tags and also enjoy using Visible Image stamps.  Towards the end, I thought I had ruined the tag, but managed to come up with an idea which saved the day and enhanced the final look.

You Win Some, You Lose Some!

I decided to experiment with alcohol inks on parchment.  The first part of the plan went well, but then everything turned into a hot mess.  I have at least learned something from the experiment and there is plenty of texture on the tag!

Art Journal Prompts 42: Leaves

Having left it until the last minute to work with last week's art journal prompt, I thought I'd get straight down to week 42: Leaves.  I decided to use a stencil and stamp from Claritystamp which came in the July 2017 New Design Stamp Club and Stencil Club packs.

Big Background Master Board

I decided to have a play with no particular end point in mind and created this master board.  It will probably be cut down into smaller backgrounds for card making, but I will be using this technique again in my art journaling I am sure.

A Snowflake Puzzle!

Hi everyone, I'm back after a week's break with my latest card.  Once again I used some of the jigsaw pieces to create a topper for a Christmas card with a contemporary colour scheme and theme; I hope that you like it.

First Ever Art Journal Page

I have had an empty Art Journal for nearly a year and the pages have scared me to death.  By chance, I happened to come across the Mission Inspiration group on Facebook and liked the idea of having to follow a set of instructions to create an art journal page.  I therefore accepted August's mission and I'm really happy with my first attempt.

Clean and Simple Congratulations

I am so proud of my sister, who recently passed, with flying colours, her last exam (a three hour diagnostic practical) to qualify as a GP.  I made this card to congratulate her and decided after a bit of thought and playing with different layouts and die cuts, to keep things clean and simple.

Clarity Challenge Bingo - My First Canvas

I have had some small 5" x 7" canvas boards sitting on a shelf daring me to use them for over a month.  Then the Clarity Challenge for August arrived.  I have also been attempting to add more texture to my cards recently, so my choice was a no brainer - horizontal line - Stencil, Stamp, Grunge Paste!
