Spread Your Wings Journal Page

The current prompt over on Try It On Tuesday is Things with Wings.  I thought this art journal page would fit the bill.
I used a mop up sheet from a previous journal page to create a quick background.  Having covered my kraft card journal page with white gesso and allowed it to dry, I both added the mop up page and sealed it with distress collage medium before drying and trimming round.

I then added the fly away boy stamp from the Fly Away stamp set by Clarity Crafts using Cobalt archival ink.
I was originally going to add a longer quote 'Until you spread your wings, you will have no idea how far you can fly.'  I used the  Word Chain Alphabet, Versamark ink and detail white embossing powder to heat emboss the prompt.  Each letter was then given a shadow using a dark blue Polychromo pencil.

It wasn't until I had added the rooftops (using a Clarity mask of the same name) in Cobalt archival ink, that I decided to leave the page as it was instead of adding the rest of the quote using my Dymo Letratag.
