WOYWW 730: Holidays or Not

Welcome to my half term contribution to WOYWW - a blog link up that has been going for over 14 years thanks to Julia (and others) at Stamping Ground.  Please visit to find out more.

The recorder concert at the Anglo-German Society in Lichfield on Friday went very well.  My brother (musical director) provided the English version of the script and it was up to me to provide the German.  This is one of four pages which I managed to complete on Friday and which passed muster with the native speakers.
Apart from my #dailydrawing2023 there has been no craft on my desk this week.  I am fully immersed in writing the 303 report comments which are required shortly after half term. I did take the first weekend off but am now trying to get through 40 comments a day leaving very few for when I return to school on Monday.  Afternoons are spent out with hubby as he has this week off work too.  If I don't get round to everyone this week, that is the reason why.  Happy WOYWW!

Well done you for your German translation for native speakers! My German is mainly restricted to ‘Ich habe viel vergessen’ these days. 😀 Have a good week off Sarah (or at least the afternoons). Can I recommend the Ramblers Retreat at Dimmingsdale, a right turn from Oakamoor, if you don’t know it? I used to go there with my Mum for lunch and their incredible lemon meringue pies. The valley is looking stunning up there at the mo from their Facebook posts.
Take care and happy WOYWW

Writing reports is one thing I don't miss from teaching. I used to enjoy the first few but soon got fed up as there are just so many to complete. I'm sure some people think we get loads of holidays but there is always work to do. I hope you have at least some spare time to enjoy your holiday. Wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x8x

How wonderful to be able to speak German like you do. I am not very good at languages, just not something I can remember. I can sing the German song for the alphabet though.
Fab drawings as always.

i thought the first photo was your homework you were marking for a minute! Hope you get the marking done and don't have too much left for when you go back to school. I've just booked a week off work for later this month, and can't wait! Happy WOYWW Helen #2

WoW German, is there no end to your talents? Super drawings, they make me smile each week. I'm back doing reading next week with a new year 1 child, quite looking forward to it after such a big break as the last one was cancelled after only 4 out of 12 sessions. Same school so I'll be familiar with the set up there and the teachers helping in the computer room. Should be OK, needed the push to have someone new really. Hugs BJ#7

This is for all deskers regarding the Refrigerator/Freezer (R/F) debacle so I don't have to answer questions about it. Friend Sally is a member of our neighborhood (NH) online group and checked to see what available in our NH. She found a guy selling a R/F who lived about five blocks from me. I walked over and, even though I wanted a French Door R/F with a bottom freezer, I decided to buy this used R/F the NH man promised to deliver to my home right away. I spent all of Wednesday evening and Thursday getting the food out of the old R/F and into the new one. The used fridge looks very much like my old one. In fact, they are the same size and design. The man guaranteed the R/F for 90 days, so I couldn't beat that. Now I can take my time and buy the R/F I want and get it delivered in the time I want and not feel pressured or experience any lost food.

German is hard because you have to know the gender of the noun. Like Die Maus, etc. I am impressed for you.

I really love your drawings. I especially like Lost and Captain. So fun.

I hope things slow down for you soon and you can relax a bit. Happy WOYWW from # 3.
