Bon Voyage

This card was for a colleague who is leaving for Australia on New Year's Eve and will be gone for quite a while.  I like to theme the cards that I make for all my colleagues to give to another and had great fun making this one.  Bon Voyage - we will miss you.

The base card is a 20cm x 20cm pre made card blank, so I cut a piece of Sheena's Stamping card 19cm x 19cm to work on for the main background piece.  I started by stamping the Periodic Table stamp by IndigoBlu using black Archival ink (having masked off the title), then added the song title using the Letterbox Alphabet stamp set by Claritystamp.  The song is a parody from YouTube which my colleague has been known to show to students to help them with their lessons!  Having masked off the words and periodic table, I over stamped using the Calculus stamp and added atoms and molecules from the Chemistry Lab stamp set (both by IndigoBlu).  It was particularly apt if you look closely as the colleague's initials are CH.
I then brushed over the whole piece with Old Paper, Antique Linen and added Brushed Corduroy, Walnut Stain and some Ground Espresso Distress inks.  On a separate piece of card I stamped, coloured and cut out the girl from the Lost in Thought stamp by IndigoBlu.  I used Distress markers and a water brush to add the colour.
Once finished, I matted the background onto a piece of 19.5cm x 19.5cm black card and added it to the base card. 'Bon Voyage' was stamped using black Archival ink onto a piece of distressed stamping card (Sentimentals Alphabet by Crafters Companion), trimmed, matted onto black card leaving a narrow border and added using foam pads for dimension.
