I can't remember where I got the inspiration for this card, but it is my interpretation of a card I saw in a magazine - so thank you to the original designer. I also (sadly) do not have any more of the double sided 12x12 card anymore, which I used as the basis for my colour palette. It was a series of 5 or 6 different lots of card; plain on one side and patterned on the other in brown, pale blue and cream.
This card was inspired by a layout in Creative Expressions Project Book One. As you will see, it is adaptable for men's cards for all ages from teenager upwards.
I made this card for my husband's nephew and his wife, whose wedding was just after Christmas. As the theme was ivory and grey, I chose those colours for my palette.
This card looks far more complicated to make than it actually is and has the advantage that it folds flat for posting. I made it 15cm x 15cm, but any square can be used for the base; adjust the other measurements accordingly.
I decorated this set of drawers for my mother's birthday. They came as a flat pack and although time consuming, my mother loved the finished article and I was happy with the way they came out too.
It seemed appropriate that the first card of the new year be a thank you card; following the lovely gifts that I received for Christmas. I have been wanting to try out the technique for the background for some time.
Happy New Year everyone and welcome back to my blog. Here is the second and last example of the coaster set that I decorated for one of my sisters for Christmas. I decorated the coasters on both sides again, but this time using a brighter colour palette.
