It seems ages since I joined in with one of the monthly challenges over on Mission Inspiration, despite my many Quarantine Quickie tags. This page follows the June prompts. The theme was Grunge It Up, the suggested colours Brown, Burnt Orange and Patina Green and the suggested prompt words were Distressed, Rustic, Decaying, Shabby and Neglected.
Add a coat of Amsterdam transparent gesso to pages of handmade paper in a leather bound journal. Dry thoroughly. Add Rusty Hinge and Walnut Stain distress paint to the pages and blend them together with a damp wet wipe. Die cut the Clarity Clockwork aperture die twice into a sheet of Tim Holtz grunge paper. Use the 4” nested circle die to cut each aperture from the grunge paper. Paint each die cut with Walnut Stain Distress paint. Add touches of Amsterdam turquoise green acrylic paint and a little Viva Décor Rusty to each die cut. Add a little of the Amsterdam turquoise green paint to the background and blend it out with a damp baby wipe. Add Orange Blossom archival ink through parts of the Clarity ABC stencil. Add the die cuts to the page, trim off the excess and add these pieces too. Add one of the Tim Holtz Paper Dolls. Add Cracked Pistachio Distress Glaze to one of the paper dolls’ dresses. Print off a George Sand quote using a Dymo Letratag with one of the prompt words in upper case for emphasis. Trim down the panels and add them to the page. To finish, add some Rusty Hinge distress marker over the quote panels and go round each one with a dark brown fine liner.
