I had to take a short time out from report writing to share the birthday card that I made for my nephew, who turned 17 two days ago - Happy Birthday!  I decided to keep the card clean and simple as he is growing up - next stop provisional driving license.
I used the Contemporary Squares die by Spellbinders to cut the main die and extra inner square from royal blue pearlescent card.

When I laid it across a 15cm x 15cm white card blank, I didn't like the starkness of the contrast, so I drew round the main die and cut a mat from some citrus green card to put below.

I much prefer the contrast of the blue and green against the white card.  Once the matted die cut had been added to the card, I used white number peel offs on the square piece and added it using foam pads.  Finally, a Happy Birthday sentiment and Nephew peel off were coloured using a bright blue Permapaque pen by Sakura to match the main die cut and added in the top right and bottom left corners.
