WOYWW 847/67: Fabulous Retreat

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

My desk shows some of the stamps I was playing with before I headed off to the Clarity retreat last week.  Barbara will be on HobbyMaker today at 1pm and 4pm showcasing them and you will see my samples over the next few days on my blog.  I  am busy working on more secret stuff so had to stage the desk.
This is the sample that was on yesterday's blog.
This was my desk last Thursday at the start of the second day of the retreat - we were learning all about Acrylic paint and I learnt so much.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.  I had a lovely weekend and family get together and also a great musical afternoon with the u3a recorder group yesterday.  Next Saturday I will be back in Lichfield for a play day with Helen Hooker (well known in the recorder community).  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 846/66: Be Prepared

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks which is WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?), the brainchild of Julia, who kindly entrusted it to me to continue after the first 15 years of togetherness.  Please feel free to link up your desk and visit others' - we are a friendly bunch.

I admit to having prepared this blog further in advance than usual (Monday instead of Tuesday afternoon).  I will be setting off early for the Clarity retreats tomorrow and will be calling into Crawley to drop off a card and presents for my sister before our birthday on Friday before arrival in Maidstone. I will also be meeting up with friends for an evening meal so wasn't sure if I would have time to write anything once there. My desk shows a die that I have been after for ages and which I finally managed to track down on eBay for a reasonable price. I will get photos from the retreat for next week!  EDIT The meal was cancelled due to illness, so having spent a lovely couple of hours with BIL I got checked in and took a photo for an update to the desk.
My 'desk' at the hotel.
I am taking my trusty camera with me!

The age old argument - B, myself as a non pet owner.

Childhood memories.
I will try and update this tomorrow if I have time, but otherwise will visit everyone when I get back.  I am picking up a friend of my Mums who is coming to stay with her for a month and who lives in Gillingham on the way home, so I will have company on my birthday.  We are having a family get together on Sunday at Mum's, although sis' and BIL won't be arriving until next Tuesday - there were far more people who couldn't make it the following weekend.

Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 793/13: A Retreat

Welcome to WOYWW, the weekly blog hop/sharing of desks that's been going for over 15 years thanks to Julia and now entrusted to me.

Not my usual desk as you can see as I am spending today (and yesterday) down in Kent for the annual Clarity retreats.  A packed two days spent learning lots of crafty tips and tricks, new techniques and meeting up with friends old and new.  I won't be sharing any of the projects until next week as there is an embargo on that until Saturday.  The new car was a dream to drive down here even with the usual traffic jams on the M6 around Birmingham and the M25.
Me, Deborah, Jane, Deb and Sonia
I had a group photo with other Clarity DT members who were there.
Linda, Lisa, Sue and Jazz
Linda (picker and packer extraordinaire), Sue (in charge of all things Clarity Clubs) and Jazz (designer) were taking part in the workshops but Lisa (designer) was beavering away behind the scenes in charge of refreshments and lunches.

I will miss out the latest #dailycollage2024 pages today as they will be on my blog tomorrow anyway.

Before heading back on Thursday I will be collecting an old friend of Mums from Gillingham and bringing her back for a visit.  Hopefully I will be able to visit everyone by the weekend.

Thanks for joining in with WOYWW Stay safe everyone.

WOYWW 741: One Week On

Thank you all so much for the condolences and best wishes last week.  We should know by the end of today when Dad's funeral will be held - Mum is determined not to have it next Tuesday though as that is my and my sister's birthday.

I had the most beautiful bouquet of flowers last week from Barabara Gray and the Clarity team for me and Mum and took them over to Mums.  The lilies went into a vase in the kitchen away from the cats and the rest looked lovely on the hearth with family photos.
My desk shows the folder of projects from the Clarity workshop.  Eva brought it over on Sunday and I look forward to trying them out.
A favourite of Dad.
I am determined to keep up with the challenge of #dailydrawing2023.
Hope to get round visiting you all later today. Eva is visiting later too after my annual health check.  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW. Don't forget to visit/link up at Stamping Ground.

WOYWW 690: A Fabulous Retreat

What a fabulous weekend at the Claritystamp retreat Eva and I had.  There are two desks on display today - one at the retreat and one back home with a couple of the cards - not quite yet finished.

Eva was of course on the other side of the desk as usual.
On Friday afternoon we had fun with a Groovi project and on Saturday morning it was background techniques using inks, paints, stamps and brayers.  I have a fabulous pile to play with at home.  Saturday afternoon was a lovely project involving zentangling with a stencil.  We are all set to book for next year again and I can thoroughly recommend the retreats.
Barbara provided the expertise and tips and tricks ably supported by Paul and Jilly worked her magic on the lunches each day - she looks after the design team so it was good to catch up face to face.  Eva and I may have spent a bit of money in the Clarity pop up shop too lol.

My quick daily journal pages are currently on a holiday theme and I have had fun finding the appropriate Clarity word sticker(s) for each page.
Sorry I didn't get round to visiting desks last week, between sample making and going away I just didn't have time.  I promise to try and do better this week.  To find out more about WOYWW please visit Julia at Stamping Ground - there will be lots more desks to see and a friendly community too.  Looking forward to the crop in October!  Stay safe and Happy WOYWW.

WOYWW 689: Off to A Retreat

Welcome to the weekly sharing of desks via Julia at Stamping Ground - holder of the keys to WOYWW.

My desk shows the plethora of holiday stickers that I have to choose from for the next few pages of my daily journal.  I will need to be especially organised as Eva and I travel down South tomorrow ready to participate in the Clarity retreat on Friday and Saturday.  I am unable to show you what I am working on as I am busy trying to get as many samples as possible made for the shows at the start of September so I can take them with me.

I went with a London theme to start the series of holiday pages.
My recorder group was cancelled on Saturday due to the heat so I will have to wait until September to join.  Hope to manage and visit everyone before I head off, samples permitting.  stay safe and Happy WOYWW.
