This card is one that I adapted from a card made with the fabulous Phill Martin at his recent Craftathon. The original used the blossom collection, but as I wanted a more masculine look and I have many of the stamps from the Timeless Collection, I adapted the card and used a 'Decadent Denim' colour scheme.
I used a similar layout, but with different embellishments. I took a piece of 19cm x 19cm white card and die cut the third largest of the oval double pierced dies by Sue Wilson from the centre. I also cut the fifth, seventh and eighth largest oval dies from another piece of the same white card. The oval left over from the square was embossed using the pocket watch 8"x 8" embossing folder by Embossilicious.
Using the larger flourish stamp from the Flourishes & Corners stamp set from the Phill Martin Sentimentally Yours Timeless collection and Decadent Denim Colour Cloud, I created a background on the square mat. This was added to a 20cm x 20cm card blank using foam pads and the embossed oval was set back in place using glue to give a sunken appearance.
The next oval in size was stamped all over using the Classic Background rubber stamp and the same Colour Cloud ink. This was also added using foam pads. The next oval down was left blank and added flat. Finally, the smallest oval was stamped using the smaller flourish and the Decadent Denim ink and added using foam pads for dimension.
I stamped the larger banner from the Everyday Sentiment Banner set on a separate piece of card and added the sentiment of my choice (there are eight to choose from). This was cut out; shaped using a bone folder and added using a double layer of foam pads at the centre and glue near each end.
To create the embellishments I die cut several elements from the Pocket Watch dies by XCut; used Decadent Denim gilding wax on the back plate, hands and fob; matted the elements together using a small brad for the hands.
The two keys from the Key & Keyhole die set by Joy! crafts were cut and embossed, then painted using the matching watercolour paint from the Decadent and Precious Metal palette by Cosmic Shimmer. The ribbon was coloured to match using the Decadent Denim Colour Cloud and tied in a double bow with an extra set of 'tails' added separately.
