This is the card that I made for my colleague on the arrival of her beautiful daughter. Congratulations to the whole family!
I used a 7"x 7" base card and three of the Double Pierced Square dies (set B) by Sue Wilson and Creative Expressions to create the layers. Before building up the layers, I blended Victorian Velvet distress ink around the edge of the base card.
The bottom layer was stamped along the top and bottom using words from the Completely Relative and Greetings stamp set by Stamps Away in Magenta Hue Archival ink. The date was added along both sides in the same ink, using stamps from the Handscript Numbers set by Do Crafts and Forever Friends.
Before blending Victorian Velvet ink over the middle layer, I embossed it using the baby clothes folder from the set of 4 baby folders by Cuttlebug. I had to emboss the panel in two sections as it was too wide for an A2 folder to emboss in one go, but by hanging the edge slightly outside the embossing sandwich, I avoided a line down the join. Can you even spot it?
The final layer had baby Lorna's name stamped down the right hand side using the Tiled Letter and Number set of See D's. This tied in with the inside of the keepsake box which I made as a gift (see HERE).
Finally, I cut and embossed the Stork die by Joycraft in coordinating pink card and added it to the top panel.
The wrapping paper for the gift was plain brown parcel wrapping, stamped using some of the Baby Girl cling stamps by Serendipity stamps in Magenta Hue Archival ink to match the card.
