First Birthday Card with a Difference

This was made for the daughter of a friend of mine, whose 1st birthday it was yesterday.  As they are not particularly traditional in their tastes, I decided to make a card which is a bit different (although there is some pink on it)!

Art Journal Prompts 17: Magazine Clippings

This was a most liberating art journal page to complete and I now have a great stash of images clipped from magazines and newspaper supplements for future use too. This was created following the prompt 'Magazine Clippings' for the Art Journal Prompts Facebook group.  I was originally intending to use images, but instead found lots of headlines and references that could be applied to my feelings about art journaling; from a film advert, to a holiday brochure.

Messy Layers Background: Part 2

Having created the basic background yesterday using distress inks, paints and a stencil, today I added stamped elements to the background to provide texture and further depth.
