Quarantine Quickie #5 & #6: A Bird in the Hand / Two Peas in a Pod

I am catching up with the daily quarantine quickie prompts on Mission Inspiration and my tag journal is getting fatter every day.  Here are #5 and #6.  I have been using my stash for the backgrounds each time, but I don't think that I'll ever get to the bottom of the pile lol.

Mini Envelope on a Tag

I am keeping up with the monthly challenges over on Tag It Tuesday.  This months prompts were: Add numbers, use a crimper or use something corrugated, use a roller stamp and use/add an envelope.  I didn't use a roller stamp, but other than that followed the prompts.

Alcohol inks on Yupo and Stencil Card Combination: Funky Foliage

I hate waste, so when I use alcohol inks on Yupo paper through a stencil, I try to take a print with the ink left on the stencil.  I actually ended up getting three pieces from one lot of alcohol ink, this is the first.

This journal page was my last sample using Leonie's new collection of frameless shapes stencils.  It is the one I like the most and it even made it as the header on Barbara Gray's blog!

Yupo Space Background

This was made for the September challenge over on Mixed Media Art Journey.  It gave me an opportunity to use part of a Yupo background that I'd already created.

Alcohol Ink Experiment on Microscope Slides and Yupo Paper

I found a box of glass microscope slides when cleaning out the garage recently and put them to one side in my craft shed.  I decided to get them out yesterday and see what I could do with alcohol inks on them.  I also ended up with a lovely Yupo paper background.  I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet, but enjoyed experimenting.

Having been inspired recently on Hochanda, I decided to play with the alcohol inks that I already have.  I used an offcut of Yupo paper from my stash and Ranger alcohol inks in Indigo, Wild plum, Purple Twilight, Raspberry, Sail Boat Blue, Stonewashed, Cool Peri and Ice Cap Mixative as well as blending solution, a drinking straw and a felt pad blending tool.

WOYWW 479: Off Gallivanting

Time for the weekly sharing of the desk, hosted by Julia over on The Stamping Ground.  I was off gallivanting yesterday at the four weekly JJAMMMA meet up at Hobbycraft in Stockport and have a guest slot on the other side of the desk as Eva is off on her holidays.  I have also taken a shot of my desk this morning (with actual crafting on it)!

Yesterday afternoon at Hobbycraft, I was about to start adding some stamping over the Yupo in Archival inks.

Kaz, who was guesting on the other side of the desk, was working on some collage work.

My trolley has been breeding.  I bought myself an early birthday present which fits perfectly in the space.  Even less reason to move from my seat when crafting now.

and finally... This is an art journal page which I created in January when we were still hoping to avoid relegation.  Stoke City had an open training session at the stadium yesterday and I went along.  I feel the page has been improved with autographs of both goal scorers, the team captain and my favourite player who was making his home debut that day as well as a couple of interlopers who are new to the club lol. 

ATCs: B is for...

The prompt for the monthly ATC swap over on Junk Journals and Mindful Mixed Media Art is the letter B.  As I have worked on that prompt before, I had to be mindful not to repeat myself.  All stamps used are by Claritystamp as always for my ATCs.

Alcohol Ink on Yupo Paper Background

This is the last of my 'Spring' art journal pages for the April prompt over on Nina Ribena's Art Journal Prompts and More.  The background was inspired by a technique used for an art journal page that Vicky Papaioannou created (see HERE).

Yupo Greetings

I finally got round to using my second Yupo experiment on a finished card for a good friend's birthday.

Having played around with Yupo yesterday, I used the piece that I finished as a focal point on a card.  As the alcohol inks that I used were bright, I wanted a pop of colour in the matting and layering, but also some black to match the stamped elements.  As you can see, I had lots of fun trying different lay outs and several colour elements.

I'm late to the game with this one, but I finally discovered Yupo on YouTube and as I have quite a few alcohol inks I thought I'd get some and have a play.  I wasn't pleased with my initial efforts and almost threw them away; but I persevered, added layers and I'm happy with the two pieces I've created so far trying a multitude of techniques.
